Chemical Enrichment History of Galaxies

13.04.2023 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

The star formation and chemical enrichment histories of Local Group galaxies are traditionally studied by analysing their resolved stellar populations. The integrated light of star clusters however, can be studied using ground‐based telescopes to much larger distances. In this talk  Dr. Randa Asad (Space Telescope Science Institute, San Martin Drive, Baltimore, MD, USA) will discuss the first chemical composition measurement obtained using the IR spectra we observed with Xshooter/VLT for a newly discovered young stellar cluster in the central region of our galaxy as well the first detailed chemical abundances that we obtained for three star-clusters in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC), using integrated-light optical spectroscopic observations obtained with the Magellan Echelle spectrograph on Magellan Baade telescope.
